Chanukah oh Chanukah, come light the menorah! We have been busy enjoying all things Chanukah. We have been spinning dreidels, counting candles, and learning all about the amazing miracles Hashem made for us. We used dreidels to create color patterns, and we even froze blue water to make dreidels out of ice cubes. We’ve had a wonderfully busy short Thanksgiving week! We investigated the inside of pumpkins and used mallets to hammer in golf tees. We scooped fall items and created colorful fall “soup.” We practiced fine-motor skills by using nail clippers to cut pasta pieces. We became mini scientists and explored color mixing. We reviewed our letters A–G and our Hebrew letters Alef–Zayin. We also began learning about Chanukah and used popsicle sticks to count the candles on the menorah.

We have been enjoying having all our families join us for our Grateful for Generations Thanksgiving Celebration. Thank you for taking the time to be part of our singing, dancing, and feasting. It was so special to celebrate together. This week, we focused on all things Shabbat. What a wonderful week learning all about Noah and the Teiva (Noah’s Ark)! We learned that Noah built the Ark to bring all the animals safely inside. The children had so much fun playing with toy animals on the Ark, listening to the sounds each animal makes, and matching them to their pictures. We also experimented to see which toys could sink or float, just like Noah might have wondered about his Ark.  The children practiced folding and packing their clothes to get ready for

This week, we enjoyed focusing on all things Creation ! We finished learning about Days 4, 5, and 6. On Day 4, Hashem made the sun, moon, and stars. We sewed bright yellow suns and loved playing with our black galaxy Play-Doh filled with tiny stars. On Day 5, Hashem created all the fish and birds. We made bird nests and added colorful scales to our fish. On Day 6, all the animals were created. We practiced sorting them into their habitats with fish in the ocean using blue wat

We’ve had a creative week learning all about Creation! We learned all about Hashem making the world in 6 days and resting on the 7th, Shabbat. We know on the first day there was light and dark. Hashem made day and night. We beaded black and white beads, used flashlights in a black box to create light from darkness, and we investigated shadows! It’s so nice to be back after a wonderful Sukkot holiday! We loved hearing all about your time at home with family and friends. This week was spent celebrating Yom Kippur. We prepared by learning all about the holiest days of the year by learning about Hashem!
