Meshe Nichnat Adar Marbim B’simcha! In the month of Adar, we increase our joy, and Purim is in the air! We enjoyed having Monday off for President’s Day and were excited to jump back into learning all about Purim this week.

We learned that long ago in Shushan, the Purim story took place. We spoke about King Achashverosh and how Esther became the queen. Mordechai saved the day, and Haman was very mean! Our creative Morah Mara made a beautiful castle for us to paint and play in.
We counted jewels and added them to crowns, and we had so much fun placing princesses in the palace.
In dramatic play, we practiced making Mishloach Manot baskets with different food items. We also loved trying on our Purim costumes!
In honor of Rosh Chodesh Adar, we made real hamantashen, and they were delicious!
In science, we used colored water and glitter with pipettes to create magical Palace Potions.
Our artist of the week was Molly, and we created art inspired by his beautiful creations.
We also enjoyed visits from our wonderful specialist teachers for Music, Yoga, Playball, and Animaly.
Our fabulous short week ended with our Shabbat Party and challah baking. We loved having some parents join for Shabbat Party and hamantasch baking! What a joyful and meaningful start to Adar!
