This week was spent celebrating Yom Kippur.

We prepared by learning all about the holiest days of the year by learning about Hashem! We learned the story of Yona and the Whale, how we cannot hide from Hashem because Hashem is everywhere! We loved going into the whale's belly and learning all about teshuva; saying we’re sorry. We learned that solving problems takes 3 steps that we practice daily at BJP. #1 say your sorry. #2 say you won’t do it again and mean it. #3 ask how you can fix the problem, a hug? A high five? A handshake? Maybe even a Band-Aid or a wet napkin if a friend gets hurt. Yom Kippur is the day Hashem forgives us for all we may have done wrong, and we try to do better.
We know all about the upcoming holiday of Sukkot. We know when we eat or drink in a sukkah, our whole body is doing a mitzvah. We also shake the lulav and etrog. We take 4 different kinds of items from nature, place them together, and shake them up and down and all around. The etrog symbolizes our heart, the lulav our spine, the hadasim our eyes and the aravot our lips. We should always put good things in our hearts, do good things with our bodies, say good things from our mouths, and watch things in a good way with our eyes.
We made sukkah decorations for you to enjoy and flags to sing with the Torah at synagogue on Simchat Torah.
On Friday we joined together for our weekly Shabbat celebration and challah baking.
We also moved our bodies with an energetic playball session and got to meet a rooster with Animaly.
We wish you all a wonderful Sukkot/ Simchat Torah. Shabbat Shalom!
