Celebrating Chanukah @ BJP!

We hope you are enjoying lighting your menorahs at home! Please remember to always watch your menorahs and never leave them unattended. 

Thank you to everyone who joined us at school this week to celebrate Chanukah together! We loved singing songs, enjoying treats, and doing special projects with you.

Celebrating Chanukah at school has been so much fun! We have been making doughnuts and latkes, playing dreidel, and shopping at our Chanukah store.

We enjoyed putting candles into playdough, creating “doughnut” prints using shaving cream and pool noodles cut to look like doughnuts, and squishing olives to make “oil” to light our Chanukah menorahs.

We also went on a treasure hunt for jewels for the letter J, just like the Jewish people searched for a little bit of oil. Our Hebrew letter this week was Yud, and we had fun stringing yellow yarn to create little “yuds.” In our math activities, we explored missing numbers while keeping with our Chanukah theme.

We ended the week with challah baking and a special fire truck visit and demonstration from our local firefighters.
