We have been busy learning all about Avraham and Sara this week!

We learned that Avraham was sent on a journey, and he didn’t have cars, airplanes, buses, or boats to travel with. To practice our fine motor skills, we used rubber bands to rescue and trap “cars” on popsicle sticks.

We also learned that Avraham walked through the desert. We walked in paint and made footprints just like Avraham did, and we played with a desert sensory bin as well.

Avraham had a tent with four doors on all sides so he could always invite guests in. We practiced setting the table in preparation for our guests, and we even baked brownies and invited another class to join us as our special guests too!

We learned that Avraham’s wife, Sara, made delicious food to serve their guests. Sara also had three amazing miracles. When Sara made challah, it lasted from week to week, and no matter how many guests she had, there was always plenty of bread. To help us understand this miracle, we did a science experiment with yeast and watched a balloon blow up as the yeast grew. We also learned that Sara lit Shabbos candles and they stayed lit until the following week when she lit them again.

We practiced using charcoal and created Rembrandt inspired sketches.

Our letter this week was the letter K, and we passed around and investigated a kaleidoscope. Our Hebrew letters were Catch the Ball Kaf and Drop the Ball Chaf, where we used ping pong balls and threw them into egg cartons to help us remember the different sounds.

We loved playing with Coach Anthony at Playball, making challah, and celebrating Shabbat together to end off a wonderful week! Good Shabbos!
