Summer Sailing
We have been enjoying all things summer this week! We created beautiful ocean pictures using watercolors and salt, and had fun with ocean-themed water play as well as "slime oceans." We made lemonade and loved fixing ponytails and braids in our pretend hair salon. We had boat races using spray water bottles to create movement, and used tennis balls as "monsters" to strengthen our muscles by picking up items with their "mouths." We have been counting by 5s and 10s while review

Thank you for your support. We’ve had a great week getting ready for the Shavuot holiday. We had the opportunity to “milk a cow” and make real butter! We practiced math and played with wedges of cheesecake to learn fractions. We know S

Ice Cream Days
Ice cream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! We made real vanilla ice cream in a bag and had so much fun. The children loved playing in our ice cream shop and especially enjoyed the amazing ice cream truck that Morah Mara made. In honor of Shavuot, when it is customary to eat dairy foods, we incorporated these themes into our week as we continue counting Sefirat HaOmer in anticipation of the holiday. We sequenced and explored the life cycle of butterflies and caterpill

Little Cave Explorers
This week we went on a bear hunt! We stepped barefoot on grass, mud, snow, and water and into our cave! We spoke all about Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai learning Torah in a cave. There was religious persecution, so he took his son and learned Torah day and night in hiding. Hashem provided him with water from a stream to drink and a special carob tree to eat. We made trail mix and ate in our cave, too. We know Rabbi Akivah became a great Torah scholar when he started learning Torah

Lots of Matzah
We’ve had such a wonderful time celebrating our Model Seders with you this week. We love singing the songs, going through each step, and rejoicing in the miracles Hashem performed for us. We painted Kiddush cups, explored a Kiddush sensory bin, and had so much fun transferring grape juice using big turkey basters. From Matzah to the Sea
We’ve been having a fun week, enjoying all things Pesach! We used Lego boards to paint and create paper matzah, took out our play ovens to bake matzah in our matzah bakery, and loved singing songs all about matzah. We know Pesach is in the spring, so we created beautiful, spring-inspired art influenced by the artist Shari Pedowitz. We enjoyed squishing kinetic sand in our “Splitting of the Sea” sensory bins. In science, we made hailstorms in a jar to learn more about the plag

Pyramids & Plagues
Bang bang bang your hammers low! We have been singing and learning all about our slavery in Egypt. We built pyramids, used real hammers and nails to bang into wood, and talked about the Jewish people’s hard work in Egypt. We know that Pesach is the holiday of our freedom from slavery. We have two Seder meals and celebrate the miracles from Hashem. We enjoyed “pouring four cups of wine” and counting our grapes to make Kiddush. We learned that Hashem made many miracles, like tu

Purim Play
We’ve been enjoying all things Purim this week! We had so much fun dressing up in costumes, filling hamantashen, and learning about the four mitzvot of Purim: giving Tzedakah, hearing the Megillah twice, eating a festive meal, and giving gift baskets to our friends. We explored Tzedakah by rubbing colored pencils over coins and examining different coins up close. Our creativity continued with hamantashen-inspired art, and we had an exciting science activity, making cupcake ex

Camels & Cocoa
This week we learned all about Avraham and Sara’s son, Yitzchak. It was so special to learn about how he found a wife. Eliezer, Avraham’s friend, went to the local well and met the kindest girl there, Rivka. She even gave water to all of his thirsty camels! We gave water to our camels too, just like she did many years ago. Yitzchak gave Rivka jewelry, so we made our own jewelry as well! We also enjoyed making our own hot cocoa this week. We had a lovely time learning the lett

Welcome To Our Tent
We have been busy learning all about Avraham and Sara this week! We learned that Avraham was sent on a journey, and he didn’t have cars, airplanes, buses, or boats to travel with. To practice our fine motor skills, we used rubber bands to rescue and trap “cars” on popsicle sticks. We also learned that Avraham walked through the desert. We walked in paint and made footprints just like Avraham did, and we played with a desert sensory bin as well. Avraham had a tent with four do

snow & stars
We are so glad to be back to regular scheduled programming after a beautiful, wet vacation! We know you all had an amazing time because we heard all the amazing stories. We jumped right into learning all about the first Jewish man, Avraham. We know Avraham taught everyone about G-d, even his own father. His name was changed from Avram to Avraham, incorporating Hashem's letter Hay. We know G-d promised Avraham he would have as many children as there are stars in the sky. We fo
