Every Child is an Artist...
"The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."- Pablo Picasso
We continued exploring different artists and techniques, styles and mediums this week.
We love the way that Van Gogh swirls the paint in his Starry Night painting and the vibrant but still subdued colors he uses in Sunflowers. We created our own Van Gogh inspired art..
Mondrian uses lines to create art and we cut strips of paper and made our own linear art. We also used rulers and drew our own lines. Some of our friends used tape to create their linear art and we painted after we had sectioned off pieces.
Picasso is so colorful with his abstract faces and we had a blast designing, coloring shapes and then cutting them. We also printed pictures of ourselves and glued them on with the colored shapes to create a one of a self portrait.
We reviewed all our alphabet letters and focused on the letter R this week.
Our cap it review cards make it so much fun to match the letters and the sounds. We learned all about nosey Noon for our Hebrew letter this week as well and we tried on glasses that had a big nose in the shape of Nun.
Morah Simi had a fun Nun number scavenger hunt and we also played with noodles for the letter Nun.
Coach Anthony was back this week and we love learning with him.
We were sad to say goodbye to Morah Faygie but are so happy that she is moving to be with family. We love her SO MUCH and she will ALWAYS be part of our BJP family and live in our hearts forever.
