Thank you to Rabbi Shmuly and Elana, the BJP PTA, and to all the BJP families who helped make Teacher Appreciation Week so outstanding!

We loved all the treats and surprises, and we truly felt the love. A special thank you to Talia Malkin for the personal touch with custom cups and the boba bar.

What a wonderful week we had celebrating Lag B’Omer, the 33rd day of counting Sefirat HaOmer, and Mother’s Day! Thank you to all the moms who came to celebrate with us. We loved wearing our painted aprons, decorating cakes, and spending the morning together at our Grand Shabbat party.

On Tuesday, we sat around the bonfire and enjoyed s’mores that we prepared ourselves. What a special experience!

We also played in the cave this week, just like Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai did. We created edible bonfires and painted bonfires. We learned that the Torah is light, and that all the Torah Rabbi Akiva learned and taught to Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai is why we continue to celebrate with bonfires to this day.

We loved investigating real caterpillars and butterflies this week, and we also enjoyed our doctor dramatic play.

We made slime and practiced threading sticks through holes to strengthen our fine motor skills. We are still counting Sefira and are looking forward to celebrating Shavuot when we reach 49 days!

We created special paintings inspired by Henry Matisse’s The Open Window, drawing what we see when we look outside.

We enjoyed learning about the letter X for X-ray, where we explored real X-rays. For Tet, Taf, and Samech, we made footprints using baking soda and water, and later revealed our toes using turmeric.

We always love ending our week with challah baking. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom!
