Marriages & Twins!

We’ve continued learning about Yitzchak and Rivka's twin boys, Yakov and Eisav.

We know they were born at the same time with the same parents, but are very different. We spoke about opposites this week. Yakov likes to learn Torah and Eisav likes to hunt. We explored our own boxes that had same and different items.

We know about Yakov's married Rochel and Leah. We spoke about how Yakov wanted to marry Rochel, but her tricky father Lavan switched the bride and he married Leah. He worked hard and then married Rachel too. That’s why we have 3 Jewish forefathers, Avraham, Yitzchak and Yakov and 4 Jewish foremothers, Sarah, Rivkah, Rochel & Leah. We spoke about our parents getting married and we’re working on an exciting project for our families with all of your wedding pictures!

We know our parents gave birth to us and thoughtfully gave each of us a special Jewish name. We asked why we were named what we are, and we spoke about the meaning and who we were named after. We used shaving cream to make nameplates for ourselves

We made lentil soup like Yakov made for his father Yitzchak. It was great fun peeling and chopping the vegetables and then eating it for lunch after it was cooked!

We did yoga with Morah Alicia.

Animaly showed us a Hermit Crab! They were a bit shy and wanted to stay in their shells

Playball with Coach Anthony is so much fun!

We had a beautiful Shabbat party and enjoyed making Challah. Shabbat Shalom!
